Tips to Get Your iPad Screen Protector on without Bubbles

Posted July 21 2011

One of the most annoying problems with any iPad screen protector is that it is so hard to get it on without  causing at least some air bubbles underneath.  There is even one company which makes iPad accessories, Zagg, which sends you the iPad screen protector with a tiny squeegee so you can avoid making bubbles!  While it is hard, it is still possible to get your iPad screen protector on without it looking like a fish was living underneath it.

First, make sure you have clean hands and have cleaned your iPad screen before you begin. There are other iPad accessories for cleaning your screen.  There are a lot of different types of iPad screen protectors but they usually all require you to peel off some backing so you get a sticky surface.

You should first apply your iPad screen protector to the Home button area, making sure to carefully line up the edges.  It is really important that you are lining it up perfectly or else the entire iPad screen protector will be off.  At this point, it doesn’t matter if you get a bubble.  You want to focus on getting the in the right spot.  ONLY put the screen protector down in the Home key area – NOT the entire screen!

When you’ve got your iPad screen protector lined up perfectly in the home area, use a credit card or a soft cloth (or a very small squeegee) to get out any bubbles.  Then, carefully push the screen protector down bit by bit, using the credit card/cloth to gently work it onto the screen.  It is actually pretty easy to get the screen protector in place and you will be glad that you bought it as this iPad accessory is crucial for keeping your screen scratch free and clean!
